Children and Grandchildren of members can also join the Junior Vikings. This is a group of children and young people between birth and 18 years of age who are insured through the Independent Order of Vikings. It is also a social group that has fun activities throughout the year. When a Junior reaches the age of 16 they are eligible to transfer into the lodge as a senior member.
The Vikings offers various scholarships to their members.
National Scholarships: The deadline is July 1st. Any High School Junior wishing to apply for a National Scholarship, must be a Junior member of the Vikings by July 1, in order to be eligible to apply for a Scholarship in their Senior Year. Scholarships range from $300 to $1,000. Ingjald Lodge Scholarships are also available. Contact the office for an application for membership or scholarship application.
The Harold Oquist Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by the Viking Boat Club. It would be awarded to a graduating
Senior (male or female) who would be entering the trades: carpentry, electrical, glazing, mechanics, plumbing, tool-die,
or welding.
Applications are available in the lodge office. Must be returned by June 1st.
